CARES Act Emergency Assistance &
Disaster Relief Assistance Program

Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act and appropriated approximately $8 billion from the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) for payments to Indian Tribes, including funding that was initially delayed due to litigation for Alaska Native Corporations like CLNC. Pending a Supreme Court decision in Yellen v. Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation, CLNC received funding that will be utilized to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CLNC established the CLNC CARES Act Emergency Assistance and Disaster Relief Program to provide financial assistance to CLNC shareholders who have endured financial hardships, losses of income, and other direct impacts because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shareholders may apply for assistance to address basic necessities that were impacted or disrupted because of the COVID-19 pandemic like maintaining adequate housing, disruptions in transportation, food shortages, medical needs, utility costs, mortgage/rental assistance, and other expenses directly resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Payments may be made directly to the vendors on behalf of the applicants. This Program is funded by the federal CARES Act funding received by CLNC from the U.S. Treasury and must comply with CARES Act requirements and guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Treasury. All applicants must certify that they meet eligibility requirements.

Each shareholder over the age of 18 must submit an application. Parents and guardians may submit applications on behalf of minor shareholders.  Each shareholder may be eligible for individual assistance payments up to $500. CLNC will determine the final amount based on applicant need and as funds remain available to provide assistance and relief. In order to provide economic relief, shareholder applicants must demonstrate individual need and impact. Please certify that you have been financially impacted directly by COVID-19.

All shareholders have been mailed an application to fill out. You can also download the application by pressing the button below.
