About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrative & Finance Coordinator within a two-year executive development program designed to prepare the right candidate for a future leadership role. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) executive parent-company management, government contracting (GovCon), corporate finance, and strategic operations while being mentored by senior executives from multiple organizations.
The Coordinator will work directly with CLNC, MDB (Mallard Duck Bay – GovCon subsidiaries) and its subsidiaries, and consulting clients through Transcend Strategic Consulting (TSC). This position is ideal for a career-minded individual with strong organizational and accounting skills who is passionate about serving Alaska Native corporations and building sustainable, Native-owned enterprises. The successful candidate will be an employee of TSC, subcontracted to the other entities, and provide support to participants in Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC)’s in-house mentor-protege program, In-Region Government Contracting, with specific metrics of success and completion.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Strategy and Executive Leadership Development
Assist in leading the strategic planning process, executive and tracking for CLNC and MDB.
Develop leadership skills and experience with the goal of a senior level executive leadership role at CLNC or MDB.
Accounting & Financial Operations
Process payroll, vendor invoices, and customer billings
Perform journal entries, cost allocations, and intercompany posts
Support WIP schedules, job cost reporting, and financial reporting
Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Assist with SBA/8(a) revenue tracking and compliance reporting
Provide support for internal and external audits
Government Contracting & Compliance
Learn and help administer Unanet (GovCon ERP system)
Assist with contract setup, pricing models, proposal support
Attend SBA 8(a) trainings, conferences, and relevant webinars
Help manage project administration, licensing, and certifications
Shadow key mentors in SBA/8(a) operations and proposal development
Project management to get MDB CMMC certified
Operations & Business Systems
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process automation
Administer Microsoft tools and SharePoint file access
Support business development efforts, including use of HigherGov
Visit job sites, meet subcontractors, and learn field operations
Governance & Administration
Attend board and shareholder meetings
Help develop governance documents and recordkeeping policies
Track insurance, bonding, and state/federal filings
Shadow senior leadership and participate in executive meetings
Exposure to Other Alaska Native Corporations
Provide consulting through TSC to support through BBNC’s in-house Mentor Protégé program – In-Region Government Contracting Program and other Tribes and ANCs
Learn diverse revenue models and observe different leadership structures
Participate in strategic planning and finance sessions across clients
Senior Management Mentorship & Fast-Track Development
This position offers a unique executive development pathway through a structured mentorship program designed to accelerate leadership growth within an 8(a)-enterprise environment. Participants will gain strategic, financial, and operational experience across multiple corporate functions while working directly with senior executives and board advisors. The goal is to develop future leaders capable of driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and lasting shareholder value.
This role offers a structured mentorship designed to prepare high-potential professionals for executive and senior management responsibilities. The mentorship will include hands-on exposure and strategic guidance in the following areas:
Strategic planning and 8(a) program growth
Executive leadership, financial management, and organizational development
Operations management, cost control, and performance delivery
Subcontractor, partner, and client relationship management
Accounting and financial reporting
Board support, corporate communications, and shareholder engagement
Proposal strategy, capture management, and contract execution
Information technology systems, including SharePoint, Microsoft administration, and digital infrastructure
Corporate governance, human resources, policy creation, and regulatory compliance
Long-term corporate strategy and business planning

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field
5 years experience working in progressively challenging business management roles, with some experience working with Alaska Native organizations or Tribes with subsidiaries in government contracting
Strong Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and SharePoint skills
Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and learning
Familiarity with QuickBooks, Unanet, or other financial systems a plus
Ability and willingness to actively participate in the Senior Management Mentorship Program as a required component of this position
